FW149461, L.C. Smith Gun Company Trap Grade 20 Bore, Only 356 Trap Grades were made in 20 Bore, Factory 28" Extractor Crown Steel- barrels that was started August 14, 1936, patterned September 17th & finished September 22nd. The next day it was shipped to Lou J. Eppinger, Inc. in Detroit. Featherweight frame, The right barrel at .623 .042" (Super Full), The left barrel at .612 .033" (Full), 2 3/4" chambers, Double ivory beads, Double triggers, Splinter forend, Pistol grip stock at 14 1/8 x 1 5/8 x 2 11/16" over the original 1 1/8" Hawkins pad, 6 lbs. 9 oz., Nice wood that is totally free of any cracks, 35% Engraving Coverage, This piece retains 85% original barrel blue, 25% original case colors with a nice patina on the balance of the frame, The original wood finish in 90% condition, The checkering remains at 99%, The bores are excellent plus and almost look new, It remains smack on the face, All the screws remain in excellent to near excellent plus condition. Here is an original Smith 20 bore Trap Grade in very nice original condition. From 1913 to 1939 there was 3,355 Trap Grades made but only 356 in 20 bore. A past owner did lightly stencil his social security number to the frame and barrel flats inside. In 1936 a Trap Grade in this configuration would have retailed for $95.85
