No. 4(T) ENFIELD SNIPER RIFLE w/Scope (.303 British)
Hello, this is a very nice 1944 No. 4 Mk1 (T) SNIPER RIFLE in excellent condition. Complete with original scope mount (not numbered to rifle) and hard-to-find H.B.M.Co. No. 32 Mk1 scope factory-converted to Mk2 variant (scope serial number stamped at top of stock wrist). The buttstock socket is stamped “TR” (Telescopic Rifle) with “N” over the serial number indicating Navy issue.
All matching parts on rifle including magazine. Rifle lacks “S51” H&H stamp below wrist on butt stock; however, two scope numbers (one crossed out) on top of the stock wrist indicate post-war arsenal replacement. Includes quality reproduction metal scope case with leather strap, scope adjusting tool and leather scope cover (also marked 1944, but possibly also a reproduction).
Brass butt plate and grooved forearm hand guard. Includes correct Enfield canvas sling. Mk2 scope totally reconditioned and waterproofed by Peter Laidler in England via Brian Dick, BDL, Ltd. in 2012 (paperwork and Laidler’s letter included); Laidler’s “Telescope Sighting No. 32” 4th Edition, BDL, Ltd. 2008 reprint also included.
