Description:
SOLD.  Pattern 1856 Barnett Cavalry Carbine in good condition and strong action.  Knee deep untouched dark chocolate patina.  Has the very desirable Barnett lock plate.  Barnett was to the South what Springfield was to the North.  This Pattern 1856 Cavalry Carbine has it’s original swivel ram rod and sling bar.  The stock is much better than most we see and very well could have been a Yankee War Trophy.  This is a beautiful example and has correct American Civil War marks.  The barrel has the correct American Civil War barrel proofs.  There were 10,000 of these carbines ordered by the South  but you rarely see them because they were used and abused.
The butt plate has  "SC” stamped on it.  Plenty of pictures posted for condition of this beautiful Pattern 1856 Cavalry Carbine.
Purchased this carbine from Brian Akins Rebel Relics. Photo source same person plus a couple of my own. If you need more photos of any part of the gun I would be glad to send them.
