Description:
John Shell was taxed as a Gun Maker from West Hanover Twp., east of Harrisburg, Pa. from 1817 through 1871. He built fine flintlock & percussion rifles & was one of the few makers who signed and/or numbered his guns.His father was Martin Shell, grand master of the Dauphin County School.

For sale here is one of his original flintlock long rifles in 50 cal. 15/16" barrel 38" long, 53 1/2" overall. All brass mountings. Old repair to stock around grip, very professionally done. Lock is marked "Warranted". Zip code will determine shipping costs. Trades considered. Reduced price.
