Description:
Parker VH 16  Gauge Side-by-Side
ENGLISH STOCK, 28”, DEEP CHISELED CUSTOM ENGRAVING, AWESOME WORK!

General Specs: Parker, Year 1924, 16 Gauge, 6lbs 11oz, SxS
Serial Number: 209288

If you are looking for a historically correct, factory original gun, look at my other offerings as we have a few that qualify.  This gorgeous Parker VH 16ga., sn209288 made in 1924, has been beautifully engraved and restocked into an outstanding, one-of-a-kind Parker upland gun.  The action, trigger guard, and barrel breech band are deep relief engraved with a bank note floral style scroll with expertly shaded background and done with the utmost precision and talent.  The left side, right side, and bottom of the receiver shows classic deep relief game scenes that are outstanding.  These are not the typical lightly cut animals done by lesser engravers.  I have the privilege of studying some of the finest engraving ever cut into a gun’s steel and quality work stands out.  Whoever engraved this gun produced some of the most expertly cut scroll and game scenes you will observe on a Parker gun.   The original butt stock and forend have been replaced with nicely figured English walnut and the wood to metal fit, stock shaping, and checkering are superb.  The grain structure layout of the stock as it runs into the wrist and head of the stock cannot be better, delivering a strong bond between metal and wood…it is as good as it gets.  The stock dimensions are modern and desirable at 14 3/8” x 2” x 1 7/16” x neutral cast (we can bend the stock to your dimensions within a week of purchase).  The butt pad is a ½” “Old English” pad and looks great on the gun.  A longer pad can easily extend the LOP if you need.  The 28” barrels are in excellent shape with tight ribs, excellent bores, M/F chokes, a few light handling marks, 2 ¾” chambers, and fit tight on the breech face with top lever right of center.  The action retains 96% brilliant Turnbull Restoration case color, excellent screws, crisp triggers, all in perfect mechanical condition.  What a gorgeous custom Parker ready for upland hunting or clay target games.  This is the perfect pheasant gun!  The custom stock and engraving alone would cost more than we are asking for the entire gun.  Of course, we all know the reliability and desirability of the Parker gun as a go to gun for classic gunning.  This stunning gun will command attention with your shooting buddies and be a gun that can stay in the family for generations.  It is that kind of gun.  Thanks for looking!
