Description:
Original Ranger large round canteen, covered in an army drab green wool material. It has 2 rounded metal galvanized feet and a cap marked "Bear Brand". It also has a green 1-1/2" wide carrying/shoulder strap. Stamped with a patent date of 1918. This could very well be a WWI era canteen, or it may have also been made for camping use or even for the forest Rangers. The wool covering is quite old, but displays well. There is some debris floating around inside and I didn't fill it to measure the volume, but based on dimensions of 9" diameter and 4" thick, I would estimate it holds between 3 and 4 quarts. Great old west display piece.
