Description:
This is a nice Husqvarna Model 310A double barrel 12 gauge shotgun made in circa 1924.  It features an English style straight grip checkered Walnut stock, 29.5 inch fluid steel barrels with 2 9/16ths inch chambers, choked full and extra full, double triggers, and an automatic safety.  This boxlock action has a Greener crossbolt and two locking lugs on the barrels.  The Model 310 came in several grades from "A" thru "D", with this being a "A" grade hence the model name 310A.  It is a nice honest and original gun and shows some wear and tear but has not been abused.  You can see in the pictures that the blued barrels still look nice with 90% of the blue finish remaining, with the handling and use marks all very small.  The reciever was case colored when new, but there are only traces of the case colors remaining in the protected areas.  The areas that had case colors have a pleasing silver patina to them.  The bores are clean and free from pitting however the right barrel has a small dent in it (pictured) and the left barrel has an even smaller little ding in it.  Although it doesnt seem to have affected the function of this shotgun, both of these could be easily raised out by a gunsmith if the new owner so chooses, and at the same time have the chambers lengthened to 2.75 inches from the current 2 9/16ths inch chambers.  The checkered Walnut stock set is in good shape overall.  The checkering shows some wear but still looks nice, and there are some handling marks in the wood but nothing major.  The stock set is completely free from cracks or repairs.  The original horn buttplate is also still intact and tight to the wood.  The length of pull from the front trigger to the end of the plate is 14 7/8ths inches.  The drop at the heel is 2 3/8ths inches.  Everything on this gun works 100% like the day it left the factory.  If you have been looking for a classy 12 gauge side by side, this Husqvarna Model 310A would be a great inexpensive choice.
