Solid Colt Burgess. Round Barrell 44/40. Gun overall is brown with some moderate pitting. The barrel showing more pitting then the reciever.(see Photos), Wood is very good and appears to have been replaced probably some time ago. Fit and finish is good. Trapdoor in buttstock.Rear sight appears to be original front is silver blade. Bore is pretty nice with deep rifling. Gun is mechanically very sound and has been recently test fired.Overll this is a pretty nice example of a very rare, low production lever action rifle.
