We love vintage sporting rifles! Just arrived is a very nice, George Gibbs rifle in .256 Gibbs caliber. The rifle is marked on the barrel “George GIbbs Bristol & 35 Savile Row London” and the receiver is marked “For Gibbs .256 Magnum Ammo Only” and is properly London proofed. The original blued finish rates at better than 94% overall with some minor handling marks and finish wear on the high edges. The beautiful checkered stock shows numerous handling marks, but is fully intact and nicely fitted to the action. The bore is shiny and crisp. The front sight is a correct factory shrouded blade and rear sight is a fixed V shape marked for distance at 100 with two leaf flip up sights that are marked at 300 and 500.
