FRENCH Antique Cannon Barrel FLINTLOCK Coat Pistol
With Inlaid Stock, Made Circa the Early 1800s
Here we present an antique French Cannon Barrel Flintlock Coat Pistol, made circa 1800. This pistol features a large .63 caliber bore, though it was small enough to conceal under a coat or put into a large pocket for self-defense in early-19th Century Europe. The stock is inlaid with wire in decorative designs. The barrel begins octagonally, transitioning to round at mid-barrel. Though it bears no markings, the cannon barrel, lock and offset ramrod indicate French origin.
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces have a mixed patina with bright patches showing through heavy brown patina. The stock is in good condition. The bore is smooth and in good condition. The action is excellent. Here is a great little flintlock pistol for your collection!
