ELEGANT Belgian Antique Brass FLINTLOCK Pistol
Made Circa the Early 1800s in Liege
Here we present an antique Belgian Flintlock Pistol, made circa 1800 in Liege. This pistol would have been very handy for concealment in a man’s pocket or a woman’s hand-muff. The construction is completely of brass with a cannon shaped barrel that begins octagonal ending at the muzzle as round and contoured. The left side of the barrel is stamped with a Liege proof mark.
The overall condition is very good. The brass is bright with appropriate wear due to age. The markings are clear and legible. The grips are very nice. The bore is smooth with some verdigris. The action on this pistol is nearly functional, but the trigger has to be pressed forward slightly so that the hammer stays cocked.
