Description:
Ohio Half stock Percussion Rifle by H.WRIGHT, CA 1850’s. In .42 Caliber with 41” Octagonal barrel with 6 groove rifling & excellent bore. Top of barrel flat is marked with gunmakers mark, “H.WRIGHT” in block letters. G. GOULCHER marked lock with engraved gamebird scene with floral designs. P.I. SPENCE adjustable rear sight with adjustable peep front sight. Equipped with double set triggers with brass furniture throughout including rare brass wear plate on underside of stock, brass crescent buttplate with faceted upper finial & brass triggerguard with rear finger spur. Brass cap box on right side of stock with raised check piece opposite. German silver inlays including two-barrel pin escutcheon with engraved outer edges & sculpted heart inlay behind rear barrel tang. Underside of stock is inlaid with initials, “DG” forward of floorplate. Excellent condition overall with metal surfaces showing a nicely toned patina with stock remaining in excellent condition. The barrel tang is missing rear screw & can easily be replaced. Mechanically sound with both triggers functioning properly.
