Description:
The Dakota Model 76 is one of the most desirable hunting rifles in the world, proven on every continent, in every climate and on every type of game. Exemplifying the very best of bolt action innovation with exquisite lines and impeccable shot to shot precision, it has deservedly taken its place among the legendary rifles of the 20th and 21st centuries.
The Traveler breaks down into two sections-the receiver/stock and the barrel/forend-for compact carry. This used Safari Grade comes with a 23” 300 H&H Magnum and a 22” 458 Lott barrel. It features a walnut stock with a shadow line Monte Carlo cheekpiece, hand cut checkering (wrap around on forend), an ebony forend tip and ebony cross bolt plugs. The satin finished stock has a skeleton grip cap and a Dakota Arms recoil pad yielding a 13 3/4” length of pull. A single blade island rear sight and a standard front sight with flip up night sight sit atop both barrels. The bolt knob is has three panel checkering and the metal is matte blued. Barrel band front and inletted rear sling swivel studs. The stock shows some signs of use and has several small dings and light scratches. Some type of liquid was spilled on the buttstock leaving a stain in the finish. The 300 H&H barrel appears to be the only one fired outside of the factory. The 458 Lott barrel appears to be factory test fired only. Overall excellent condition. Weight is 8.6 lbs with the 300 H&H barrel.
