Description:
This 1975 production Ruger Model 77 rifle has all the features that Ruger rifle collectors and shooters look for, and it's in a fairly low production great caliber.  The Ruger Model 77 rifle was manufactured from 1968 to 1992 and went thru several small changes during it's production.  It quickly earned a reputation for being very well made and accurate, and was a commercial success for the Sturm Ruger firm.  This rifle has the early bolt handle design and tang safety that is sought after, as well as the superb fit and finish of the early production rifles.  It is chambered in the flat shooting varmint round, the .22-250.  This chambering is a lot less common than the larger center fire chamberings.  This rifle is all original and in great shape overall.  The original gloss factory blue finish rates a solid 97%, with the only finish wear showing on the bolt handle knob and a little on the rear tang from contact with the safety.  The alloy triggerguard and floorplate still has 97% of the black finish, with just a few small marks/chips visible under close inspection.  The bore in the factory 22" inch barrel is excellent.  It is free from pitting or erosion, and the rifling still shows sharp lands and grooves.  It is obvious that this rifle has a very low round count thru it from the superb condition of the bore, and has a very long life still ahead of it.  The factory checkered American Walnut stock is in very good condition overall, and is structurally excellent.  It is completely free from cracks or repairs, and shows only some light handling and storage marks as you can see in the pictures.  The checkering still looks great, it is clean and still has lots of texture.  It still has the factory Ruger branded pistol grip intact and tight to the wood, as well as the original factory red recoil pad.  The length of pull is 13.5" inches to the end of the pad.  The stock also came with factory installed sling swivel studs which are still in place.  The action on this Model 77 is smooth and locks up tight.  All of the controls work 100% like the day this rifle left the factory in 1975.  The trigger is very good, it breaks cleanly without any grittiness or slop.  This Model 77 comes with a very nice Leupold fixed 12 power scope with an adjustable objective lens mounted on factory Ruger rings.  Many shooter believe that the Ruger's integrated bases on the Model 77 and factory rings are the best scope mounting system ever devised.  The optics on this scope are perfect; clear and bright.  The reticle is a standard "duplex" style crosshair.  The windage and elevation adjustments are also in perfect working order without being marred up by the careless use of a screwdriver, and the turret caps screw on and off perfectly.  These Leupold scopes have a lifetime warranty and it is guaranteed to hold zero.  This rifle and scope are a great package, and would be an excellent addition to any collection.  Whether at the range or in the field, the next owner will have one of the best rifles Ruger has ever produced!
