BRITISH GEORGE III FLINTLOCK BRASS BARREL BLUNDERBUSS BY BARBAR OF LONDON CIRCA 1770’S. Nice small size coaching blunderbuss 29” overall with brass 14” round two stage cannon muzzle 1 ¼” bore barrel signed “BARBAR-LONDON” for well known maker James Barbar 2nd, Grandson of the famous founder of the firm Louis Barbar. Barrel with fine turnings and floral/shell engraving and London proofs at the breech. Very good and in original flint condition with all the original lock parts. Brass mounts and nicely formed walnut stock with the original finish. Old wood repair along the right forend forward of the lock. Nice aging with original patina on the lock and the barrel and mounts nicely tarnished. Lock in fine working order and very good bore. Nice Revolutionary War George III blunderbuss.
