Description:
Serial #344766, .38 Special, 2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome revolver that has retained 90-92% of the original blue finish with silvering on the high edges, at the muzzle, and a moderate turn-ring on the cylinder. The hammer and trigger retain about 50% of their original color case-hardening with gray fading on the balance, and the checkered, diamond-center, S&W medallion grips are in very good plus shape with scattered handling marks and mild flattening of the points. A rack, or issue number is stamped into the left panel at the butt: “01". The action and lock-up are firm and fully functional. This is a fine-near excellent example of an early Chiefs Special overall. FFL or C&R
