Description:
Serial #D9339, .303 British, 25" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has minor freckling within the grooves. This is a 1908 dated, import marked rifle that is still equipped with the magazine cut-off. The metal retains about 92-95% of an arsenal-added matte blue finish with the balance turned to a mellow plum-brown patina, and mild silvering and fading along the edges and bearing surfaces. There is minor silvering and fading along the bearing surfaces of the bolt as well (arsenal renumbered to match the rifle). The walnut stock and handguards are in very good shape with numerous minor handling marks and blemishes under the added military oil finish. The rifle comes with a single magazine, has an old but intact brown leather sling, and also comes with a 1952 dated, Australian canvas muzzle cover. This is a fine example of an armory refurbished SMLE still in its original specs. FFL or C&R
