This is a 1912-made rifle that retains 75-80% of the original blue finish with gray fading on the sides of the receiver, at the muzzle, as well as on the exposed edges, and bearing surfaces of the magazine tube. There are also a series of small chatter marks on the left edge of the lever loop. The left side of the frame is neatly engraved with a presentation: PRESENTED TO MR. T.W. PEPPER, BY THE OFFICERS OF THE FULHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL, UPON HIS DEPARTURE FOR CANADA, AS A MARK OF APPRECIATION AND GOODWILL. 19TH MARCH, 1913. Additionally, the rifle is extensively London proofed on the frame and barrel. The plain walnut forend and stock with shotgun butt, have numerous small handling marks and minor blemishes in the original varnish finish, while the checkered steel buttplate has worn gray with small spots of freckling throughout. This is a wonderful pre-WW1 Model 1892 that has a great foreign presentation, and lots of original finish still remaining. It is in fine condition overall, and would make a great addition to any collection.
