This is a handsome rifle that has retained 92-95% of the original blue along the barrel and receiver with some very mild fading along a few of the high edges and some minor fading at the muzzle. The magazine door has some mild thinning of the original blue as well. The bolt has some very minor plum-brown freckling on the original armory bright finish, darkest on the handle, but most of the original thinning fire blue remains on the extractor. The rifle is equipped with a Model 1902 rear sight that matches the condition of the rifle, and the walnut stock and handguard are in fine condition with only minor handling marks and a few small blemishes marring the original oil finish. There is a crisp “JSA/1902" cartouche on the left side of the wrist. The steel buttplate has a smooth mottled pewter patina with some mild oxidation on the rack numbered tang: “63". This is an excellent example of a late model U.S. Krag-Jorgensen, and would make a great addition to any collection.
