EXCELLENT WINCHESTER MODEL 1866 LEVER ACTION .44 HENRY RF CAL. SADDLE RING CARBINE CA. 1880’S. 20” barrel with very crisp ‘WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN, CT.” address and 1860 and 1866 patent dates. Stamped behind rear sight “44 CAL”. 100% original and matching in excellent plus original condition. Beautiful brass frame and carbine butt plate with lovely original unpolished patina showing little wear. Approximately 80-90% original blue on the barrel and magazine tube with slightly less on the lever, barrel bands and rear sight. Balance of finish an even mixed original patina. Even the screws have some original blue finish. Loading gate and hammer with approximately 70% blue with the balance even dark patina. Very good to fine stock and forend with the original finish showing moderate use. Good bore and rifling and perfect working order. Original cleaning rod in butt trap. With Winchester factory records letter. Really nice example.
