EARLY AND FINE WINCHESTER MODEL 1866 LEVER ACTION.44 HENRY RF CAL. RIFLE CA. 1872. 100% original and all matching post Civil War Indian Wars example with 24” octagon barrel and full length magazine tube. Original Winchester ladder rear and nickel blade front sights. Early brass forend cap and brass rifle butt plate with cleaning rod trap. Very crisp “WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN, CT.” barrel address with the 1860 and 1866 patent dates. Very fine overall with desirable dark unpolished brass frame, butt plate and forend cap. Barrel and magazine tube and loading gate with approximate 50% blue evenly mixed with plum patina. Excellent screws with some original blue. Stock and forend with the original finish showing moderate use and handling patina. Perfect working order and very good bore with extra sharp rifling. Original sling swivels and cleaning rod in the butt trap. Desirable early example in very nice condition.
