Description:
Used. Manufactured from 1877 to 1909 the Colt model 1877 was made in 3 calibers .32 Colt (Rainmaker) .38 Long Colt (Lightning) and .41 Long Colt (Thunderer). The design was dreived from the Colt Single Action Army revolver and was Colt's 1st attempt at a double action design. The Thunderer was the preferred revolver of the famous outlaw Billy The Kid. He was in posession of one when he was killed by Pat Garrett in 1881. This gun has the look of a well used, but not abused, classic revolver. The finish is all but gone turned to patina from age and use. A good looking display piece that appears functional. The hammer cocks nicely and the cylinder seems to be in time correctly.
