Rook shotgun in .410 Bore with an extractor. The serial number dates to the period between 1891-1899. The 27 inch half octagon barrel was reamed and reproofed for 3 inch shells in 1983. It has a silver front bead. The action is color case hardened with engraving around the perimeter and around the screws and pins. The checkered walnut stock is varnished and features a pistol grip and a black fore end tip. The butt is grooved with no butt plate or pad. Overall this shotgun is in Very Good to Excellent condition with a shiny bore. Bluing on the barrel is Excellent. The case colors on the left side of the action are strong. On the right side the colors are faded. There is some damage to the slots of the screws in the action. Wood is Very Good to Excellent with a sliver out of the fore end at the top of the left side right in front of the action. All finish appears original. Included is a fitted case with the Army & Navy Co-operative Society Ltd. label on the inside of the lid.
