Colt Pre-Woodsman .22 LR caliber pistol. Made in 1916 which is the 2nd year of production. 6 ½” pencil barrel. The finish has turned to mostly patina. Grips show wear. Action works perfect, and bore is excellent. Almost 700,000 of the Woodsman series guns were built between 1915 and 1977. The basic design is one of John Browning and then refined by Colt’s designers and gunsmiths before its launch in 1915. These early models are not rated for modern high velocity .22 LR and must be fired with standard velocity .22 LR only!
