Description:
This vintage custom FN Mauser sporter is a functional work of art, and was assembled by someone skilled with an eye for details.  This rifle is classy and beautiful, and is in very fine condition overall.  The action and bolt is sourced from a FN manufactured Mauser and paired with a beautiful custom 23 1/4" inch octagon barrel chambered in .257 Roberts caliber.  The barrel, receiver, triggerguard, rear of the bolt & bolt handle, and floorplate were expertly polished and finished with a beautiful gloss blue.  This rifle was then fit to a spectacular figured Walnut stock with skeleton grip cap and butt-plate.  The woodwork on this stock is good.  The checkered pistol grip and forearm is clean and crisp and very nicely designed.  This rifle was paired up with a 1st class Leupold VX-3 6.5 to 20 power scope with an adjustable objective lens which also in excellent condition.  It is mounted on Buehler bases and rings and the optics are crystal clear.  The windage and elevation adjustments as well as the objective lens and power ring all work 100% like the day it left the factory.  The scope has a standard "duplex" crosshair reticle.  This rifle has obviously lived an easy life, likely in storage or a gun cabinet most of the time.  The bluing is in excellent condition, with few very minor handling marks.  The bore is minty and bright, with sharp lands and grooves still showing in the rifling.  The bore is completely free from pitting or erosion.  The stock is in very fine shape as well, with minor handling/storage marks.  There is a small piece of wood missing behind the bolt, could be easily fixed.  The action on this rifle is smooth and the bolt locks up tight. A good looking Custom Mauser rifle.                                                              PRICE:     $2,000            We are Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY, dealer of fine firearms since 1974.   PH. 859-276-1419         We Buy, Sell and Trade Firearms & Knives.    Have a Individual FirearmFirearms Collection, or Firearms Estate to sell, let us know, we can buy or consignment sell it for you.       (sales at am-firearms)
