Description:
Springfield Model 1795 Type II Flintlock Musket. Dated 1808. U.S. on top of the barrel with VP eagle markings. Dated 1808 on lock and buttplate. Lock markings are crisp and well struck. This is not a reconversion. Stock is solid and has sliver of wood out at the forward swivel band on the left side, otherwise wood is very good. This is a very nice type II was cleaned in the past and the appearance is very pleasing as it was cleaned but not over polished. Nice 1795 example such as this are hard to find now days as most have gone into collections.
