Sold Pending Funds / U.S. Model 1911 Semi-Auto Pistol by Springfield Armory, serial # 78xx3, cal. 45 ACP, 5" Springfield Armory barrel with a lightly frosted bore. This "old war horse" retains about 20% factory blue with most of the surfaces an even brown with moderate to heavy pitting. The right side of the slide and frame have some areas of pewter where the finish was removed from contact with blood protein or a chemical. The correct double diamond checkered walnut grips rate very good with light diamond point wear and light wood damage around the screw hole edges. The markings on the left side of the gun vary from strong to soft due to the heavy field of pitting. The right-side markings remain strong to crisp with the American Eagle soft toward the bottom due to oxidation blemishing. All appropriate parts are correct for the period of manufacture and have the appropriate Springfield Armory "s" stamp. Included is a single blue-bodied magazine. This salty 1911 is not pretty but its complete and still functions mechanically. {C&R} Inv.: # 1-1334
