This revolver is also featured in Cochran's Colt Peacemaker Encyclopedia/Volume 2, page 149, including photographs. A photo of the Factory Letter is attached in the photos. This Colt was in the collection of Hollywood actor and stuntman, Hunter VonLeer who obtained it during his career from Mr. Carl Pitts, who performed in shows with Tom Mix. Carl Pitts obtained the gun from Walter Cameron who was an Indian Agent that traveled to Hollywood in the 1920's, where he opened Ben Hur Stables in Culver City and supplied horses to the movie industry for 40 years. Walter also worked forthe early production studio World Films, and at the Peerless Studios in Ft. Lee. He performed in the motion picture "The Great Train Robbery", and was a U.S. Deputy Marshal in the Indian Territory. He also ran several cattle operations in Choctaw Nation including the Bar 14 nad W-BAR-C. He was a cattleman in Steamboat Springs at the turn of the century, and performed in many Wild West Shows. Walter was a close friend to Tex Cooper, who performed with Pawnee Bill's Wild West Shows. The ownership of this Colt is outstanding. An opporunity to own a well-documented piece of history.
