THIS EXAMPLE HAS SEEN A MATCH OR TWO AND REMAINS IN AN HONEST 97-98 CONDITION. THE ACTION IS AS SMOOTH AS BUTTER AND THE TRIGGER IS A VERY CRISP 3 POUNDS WITH NO CREEP. IT HAS A MIRROR BORE AND NEAR PERFECT ORIGINAL GRIPS. ALSO OFFERED IS A PAIR OF GENUINE 1930'S LEW SANDERSON TARGET GRIPS FOR $300 ADDITIONAL (AS SHOWN IN THE THIRD AND FOURTH PHOTOS. THIS WAS PROBABLY SOME TARGET SHOOTER'S PET SINCE THESE WERE THE MOST EXPENSIVE REVOLVERS OFFERED BY COLT IN THE DAY.
A FEW WORDS FROM A PROMINENT COLT EXPERT BEST DESCRIBES WHAT THE SHOOTING MASTER IS ALL ABOUT:
"The Shooting Master was Colt’s top of the line revolver and were hand fitted and polished for a smooth double action and single action. Each gun was hand built by the best assembler that Colt employed. It is said that if a Colt Shooting Master was returned to the factory for correction in workmanship, then the assembler responsible for that assembly operation would repair it on his own time before going home. Something that you would certainly not find in todays work place.
