Charles Lancaster Assisted Opening Best Sidelock Ejector, Lancaster backaction sidelock in the late revised third type design incorporating the V-mainspring and though retaining the previous versions' backaction look actually has the mainspring fitted up to the knuckle of the action like a bar action but without a visible pin,  also with the novel feature of the mainspring cramp which shows on the action with a screw and engraved instructions on turning for engagement, this would help facilitate the removal of the locks, 12 bore, 2 1/2" chambers, 30" original 1 1/8 oz. nitro proved beautiful browned damascus barrels, choked .007 IC and .016 lt. mod., ejectors, assisted opening, 6 lbs. 11 oz., 14 3/8" LOP over checkered butt, 1 1/2" DAC, 2 1/8" DAH, 1/8" cast off for right hand shooters, finely detailed acanthus scroll engraving with the back lockplates engraved "Charles Lancaster", the forward sides of the action engraved "Charles Lancaster, London" in a banner, and the underside of the action engraved "Single Trigger Patent", round knob grip, splinter forend, Lancaster's patent single trigger, stock oval with previous owner's initials, nicely figured dark English walnut, grip catch forend release, rib engraved "Charles Lancaster, 11 Panton St. Haymarket London, 2 Piece Ejector", automatic safety. Rib, toplever, forend release, and triggerguard inlaid "1", circa 1905. The gun as a whole restored to as new condition in England with all new finishes.  Excellent restored condition with excellent bores at .733 and .731 and minimum wall thickness of .026 and .028.  A very fine London gun at the end of the Lancaster backaction gun evolution and a scarce version to find.
