Description:
Marlin Ballard #1 Gallery gun in 22 Caliber Serial # 35xxx. Metal retains 60% Original Case Colors on Receiver and middle to high 90% Original Barrel Blue on 24" Octagon Barrel. Bore is Bright with strong lands and grooves and I would rate it as Very Good. Wood retains mid 90% Original Finish on both Buttstock and Forend. Some minor marks and a couple of dings on the buttstock and one noticeable ding on the left side of forearm between rear sight and the English Proofmarks. Hard Rubber Buttplate is Perfect. Nice Lyman Tang Sight and Beaches Fold Down Front Sight. As mentioned above, English Proofs, this gun was made for the English Market as relayed to me by the previous owner. Also, there is a seperate lot number or serial number with two tiny proofs behind it on bottom of buttstock behind the lever. Very Nice Speciman for it's age. Doesn't appear to have been used hard. Mostly handling and storage wear. Selling as Antique so no paperwork needed for purchase or transfer. Thanks for Looking.
