This Winchester was produced in 1947. The shotgun's serial number is 55734. This shotgun is fitted with a 26 inch round barrel. It is choked Cylinder. It has the flat bottom operating handle. The bore is minty and bright. The take down feature is tight. The action is also tight with no abuse. The wood has no cracks or damage. The butt plate is original to the stock. This shotgun shows hunting use and light wear. This gun however shows very little shooting use. The original bluing would rate a 94% overall condition. Most of the wear is on the high points. Most field grade Model 42's were choked Full Or Modified. The Full choke listing is the most common. The cylinder choke is quite rare. That choke was mostly special ordered. This Is a very rare Winchester Model 42! This shotgun will appeal to the serious collector of these models. This gun is also fun to shoot clay birds with!
