Description:
This early 1970's production Winchester Model 94 Carbine is a beautiful all-original gun.  It is in excellent condition overall and appears to have been shot a handful of times at most.  The Winchester Model 1894 is easily one of the most recognizable guns in the world.  Winchester started production of these famous lever guns in 1894 and production ran all the way to 2006, with over 5 million manufactured over those 112 years.  This example is serial number 3809440, which makes it's production date sometime in the first few years of the 1970's.  The original factory blue finish rates 97%+/-, with only some minor handling and storage marks, and some very small spots of surface rust that has long been removed.  As you can see in the pictures, this Model 94 is very attractive and the small deductions described previously do not detract much from the overall appearance.  The internals of the action are pristine and clean, with no signs of wear showing.  The bore is also minty and bright, with sharp lands and grooves in the rifling and no pitting or erosion whatsoever.  The factory iron sights are in excellent condition with the front sight still having the often lost sight hood in place, and the original factory elevator still present in the rear sight.  The original American Walnut stock set is still very attractive as well.  It does not show any finish thinning or wear from being carried, but it does have some small dents and scratches in the buttstock from being stored in a gun cabinet or safe and getting ed around.  These marks are not major by any means and you can see them for yourself in the pictures.  Both the forearm and buttstock are free from cracks or repairs, and are 100% structurally sound.  The buttstock has the original factory Winchester branded black checkered plastic buttplate installed and it is in excellent condition, consistent with the rest of the carbine.  Everything on this Winchester works 100% like the day it left the factory.  The action is smooth and tight, and locks up perfectly.  The trigger is quite good for a Model 94 Carbine and breaks cleanly.  There are no extra holes drilled in this Winchester.  If you have been looking for an all original and super clean post-64  Winchester 94 Carbine to add to your collection it would be hard to go wrong with this one.  It is a beautiful gun and certainly is high condition, but not so perfect that you would feel bad shooting it at the range or farm occasionally.
