Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: Remington built the Model 521T .22 target rifle from 1947 to 1968. They are a medium weight (6lbs 8oz) bolt-action repeater target rifle featuring a Lyman receiver mounted adjustable rear peep sight, a target-style stock, and a detachable 6-round magazine. They are a very accurate rifle and were quite successful for the Remington firm. They were widely used by school and youth shooting teams during their production run, and trained many budding sportsmen and target shooters the art of shooting. The 521T was also a fine hunting and plinking rifle in it's own right, and many hunters liked it because it handled similar to their centerfire deer hunting rifles. This example is barrel coded "RTT" which means it was manufactured in November of 1948, the second year of production for this model. It is in good original condition, and while used, has been well-cared for during it's life. The original blue finish still looks great on the barrel and receiver. Under close inspection there are some small handling marks and small specks here and there where there has been surface rust, but nothing that stands out or detracts much from the attractive appearance. The bore in the 25" inch barrel is minty and clean. There is no pitting or erosion visible and the rifling still looks sharp. The triggerguard and magazine surround finish has turned to a brownish patina. This is common for this area as it was the natural balance point and was carried in this area. Also contributing to the accelerated finish wear is the quality of metal used on these parts, which was much lower quality steel than used in the receiver and barrel. The original Walnut target style stock is in excellent shape. It is free from cracks or repairs, and still has a great look to it with a glossy original finish showing. It has a factory adjustable top sling swivel and standard lower sling swivel as well as a factory installed serrated black plastic buttplate. The buttplate is in great shape overall with no cracks or repairs, and just some minimal handling/storage marks showing. Everything on this Remington works 100% like the day it left the factory. The action is smooth and the bolt locks up nice and tight. This rifle will probably still outshoot many of today's production .22 rifles! This vintage Remington Model 521T would be a great addition to any rimfire rifle collection or general gun collection, and would be a lot of fun to shoot in a friendly target competition.
