Description:
Very rare Holland and Holland 8 Bore Paradox double Elephant rifle. One of only 69 made. Underlever hammer with 26 1/4" steel barrels. Rebounding hammers with one standing sight. Bores are very fine to excellent. Border engraved with left side of action engraved "Charge 8 to 10 Drams case 3 1/2 inches" Locks are very fine, and the rifle locks up as new and barrels are on face. Action cleaned to silver grey with traces of case colors. Stock is in very good condition with very light scratches and marks and is solid. Pistol hand cheekpiece with horn grip cap. Checkering is in excellent condition. This rifle was made in 1893 and weighs 15 pounds 5 ounces. The rifle is in an oak and leather two tier case with the following accessories. 3 piece heavy ebony and brass cleaning rod with mop, brush and jag, 8 Bore chamber brush by Dixon, H&H marked oil bottle, bone striker bottle, two Hawksley marked horn handled turn screws. Reloading equipment includes large brass mold marked Holland and Holland mold London 8 B Paradox casting the correct type and size bullet for this gun. Other tools include H&H marked fixer, 10 dram powder measure, Paradox Regulator, unmarked brass and Ebony wad funnel and rammer, also a capper/decapper with removable Ebony handle. Bottom section of case contains 9 heavy turned brass 8 Bore cases, head stamped H&H Paradox, along with some bullets and wads. Mold, capper/decapper are stamped with a very small "JRM". These Holland 8 Bore Paradox's very rarely come for sale, don't miss this chance to own one! Length of pull 14.5 inches.
