Description:
This is a Post 1964 Winchester model 70. This model was introduced in the late 1980's to re-establish the fine reputation of the Pre-1964 Model 70. It combines modern metallurgy with the most desireable features wanted by big game hunters. Specifically: Claw extractor, controlled feed, and 3 position safety.
This gun is impervious to the weather thanks to the stainless finish and the composite stock.
Condition:.Like new except for a few minor and almost un-noticable "handling" marks.
Bore is perfect.
This particular gun has "hunted" on 3 Continents. It has taken several animals that weighed over 2000 pounds each.
If you are not planning a trip to Africa, don"t let that dissuade you from this rifle. I used it last November to bag a large Michigan Whitetail Buck. Sure, thats "overkill" but it did no more damage to the meat than my little 243.
(RECOIL}
This gun is fitted with the (Answer Products) recoil reduction sytem. This was professionally installed at their factory, which was located in Davison MI.
This system consists of an inside the stock absorbing system plus a special muzzle-brake. You can hardly see the point where the brake attaches to the muzzle.
Net effect, it reduces Felt Recoil by about 50%. This gun is fun to shoot!
This is a very accurate rifle. It is one of the best, (Maybe the best) ,calibers ever designed.
