Here is an exactly correct and completely original colt 45 semi-automatic pistol.. military government model of 1911 with correct and likely original 5" barrel.. in very good condition with correct h and p markings in view and squiggley course cut finish on barrel otherwise. The magazine is in good condition and correctly blued, sights and grips are correct and both in awesome condition as well. The course grain metal finish on this particular blued gun is exactly how your military model of 1911 should appear in this near first generation of manufacture. Not a black army finish (1918). Pictures are great for reference.. u copy ok...
Again, not cut square, the course diagonal metal grain cut on slide flats and side of frame match in appearance very well, and proves originality as only colt in the early years could produce such a distinct finish, and their first priority in quality control was to match slide and frame appearance.. Grain is squiggley on top of slide. The frame has 4 transition points from grain parallel with slide to grain vertical along grip frame angle. This is important to verify original finish.. in fantastic condition with great roll mark depth and definition. Minor assembly mark, light wear on front grip strap, little more on rear, but no big significant scratches or gouges in metal. Hopefully the pictures will finalize your confidence that this is NOT a makeover !!! Early serial number! We watch the market closely and feel the value of 6500.00 is fair on this item.. at least you can SEE what you are getting, offers welcome.
