Description:
This is an interesting Sharps Carbine. It is in very good condition, but was coated with grease or spar varnish at some time in it's history. It also has a rack number tag on the stock, which leads me to believe that this gun was once issued or stored aboard a navy vessel.
The fit of all parts is tight, and there is no pitting present. It begs further research.
