Description:
Serial #69, 7.63mm Para. (.30 Luger), 11 3/4" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a few tiny spots of freckling within the grooves. This is a very handsome, all-matching gun that retains about 85-90% of the original blue on the metal with some mild fading and silvering at the muzzle, as well as on the high edges and bearing surfaces. Numbers are not matching, which is usually the case with the 1920 Carbine, since they were basically made from left-over parts. The trigger, magazine release, takedown lever, safety, and ejector have about 60-70% of the original straw color remaining with the balance turned to gray with traces of dark freckling here and there. The checkered, wedge-fastened walnut forend is in fine overall shape, but does exhibit some small handling marks, and some light flattening of the points. The walnut grips are unnumbered, and are in very good plus condition with some light handling marks, as well as some flattening of the points. The non-matching numbered stock is in fine condition with only minor handling marks and some scattered light surface blemishes on either side (the stock lug has a visible seam, which is quite common for this variation). A correct, non-matching, wood-base magazine is included. This is a very nice example of a highly desirable, and very rare, Luger carbine variant, and rates very good-fine condition overall.
