Description:
Mosin Nagant Type 53 Rifle manufactured March 1954 at the Chongqing Arsenal. This is the Chinese version of the Russian M44. It shoots and functions very well, in fact, much better than most of the Russian Mosins that I have owned. Most bluing has faded to gray and there is a split in the handguard. Serial numbers do not match so I assume it was back to the arsenal at least once. There is no cleaning rod and the bore is dark but with good rifling. Stock is finished with brown paint and sling appears to be original. This is probably a Vietnam bringback but I do not have paperwork to prove it. Good opportunity to have a relic from the Vietnam era, in good shooting condition, at a reasonable price.
