Description:
A scarce breakaway softshell holster built from sheet fiber bead. This black holster is in excellent plus condition example. As with most of the ersatz pieces, there is no maker's mark or code. This piece was probably built about mid war 1943. This piece has a leather closing strap, steel stud and is marked on the reverse "Geo Bauer" 31437734. We presume that it is the name and service number of the GI who brought the piece back. The exterior is excellent with bright material and a pigskin appearance. The stitching is all original and sound. The laminated layers can be seen at the edges of the flap. The interior is sound with 3 minor wear points above the spare mag pouch. An excellent example of a type of holster with a very low survival rate.
