Description:
This is a superb vintage .22 caliber revolver.  The Model 926 was manufactured between 1968 and 1972, and was among the top of the line H&R revolver models offered.  This H&R has a beautiful gloss blue factory finish not seen on their lessor models.  It has a 9-shot cylinder and a 4" inch barrel that somewhat resembles a trapezoid from the muzzle end.  It is a double/single action top-break design with a manual ejector rod, and it has fully adjustable front and rear target-style sights.  It also features checkered American Walnut grips with H&R Lion logo medallions.  Another nice feature of this pistol is the quick release cylinder design that allows the removal of the cylinder just by depressing the small latch located just in front of the cylinder on the left side of the frame.  This example is serial number AN97692 and is in excellent/very good all-original condition.  The factory blue finish is bright and shows just some minor handling marks and a few spots where the finish has worn thin, these spots are on either side of the muzzle and some of the  from some light holster carry, and on one spot on the cylinder from being stored on its side in a drawer of some type.  These areas have been pictured and do not detract much from the very attractive overall appearance of this H&R.  The bore in the 4" barrel as well as the cylinder bores are minty and bright.  The rifling still shows sharp lands and grooves, and there is zero pitting or erosion visible whatsoever.  The factory grips are also in excellent condition.  They are free from cracks or repairs, they are fit nicely, and they do not show and soiling or wear.  The checkering is still crisp and they are tight to the frame with no wiggle.  The action and all of the controls on this Model 926 are in like-new condition, like it shipped from the factory last week instead of 50 +/- years ago!  It does not show any signs of having ever been taken apart, and all of the screw heads are clean and un-buggered.  All of the serial numbered parts match.  The action works smoothly and is perfectly "in time".  The cylinder locks up tightly and the trigger is quite good, particularly in the single action mode of operation.  It is obvious that this Harrington & Richardson has had a very easy life and has been fired VERY little.  This Model 926 is a far cry from H&R's cheaper models and the quality of workmanship and materials is evident.  If you have been looking for a really cool vintage .22 revolver to add to your collection as an investment, or to carry on your hip and shoot at the range or farm/woods, this H&R would be an excellent choice.  It is very rare that we get one of these high end models from the 1960's and 70's in this nice condition and all-original.
