Description:
Sold This large frame Colt Lightning rifle serial number 32 was shipped April 30, 1887 to John P. Lovell Arms Company Boston, Massachusetts. It has a 28" barrel. Caliber is 40-60-260. The bore has good lands and grooves along with some pitting. It will rate a six on a one to ten scale. Action works as it should. Wood to metal fit is excellent. The wood condition is excellent as well. Original blue finish remains. The Rampant Colt is still very visible on the left side of the receiver. The forearm is nice with very good checkering and no breaks in the wood. Many times the corners of the forearm will be missing. Barrel address is clear and easy to see. Only 6496 large frame Lightnings were made. There are only two known with a lower serial number. This Colt Lightning Large Frame Rifle will make a great addition to any collection.
