It has a barrel measuring just shy of 24-3/8". It is equipped with a peep sight mounted on the tang, an elevator rear sight, and a Lyman No. 5-S combination globe/beech sight at the end of the barrel. As you can see from the pictures, this gun seems to have some heavy external pitting from, we suspect, blood stains. Based upon the patterns, we suspect the wielder of this rifle may have become injured from an external source, and not a suicide, due to the lack of heavy stains near the muzzle, but a much higher concentration on where the right hand would be while holding the rifle. Or it could have just been set on a wounded animal after killing it. No one knows for sure. That aside, this is still a very desirable rifle with numerous desirable features. You could either clean it up or leave it as it is. Either way this classic rifle deserves a loving home.
