Description:
This Colt was produced in 1914. The pistol's serial number is 66961. The factory letter states that this Colt was shipped to The United States Government, Adjutant General, State Of New York March 18th 1914. 1000 Guns in shipment. This pistol as of now has a slightly latter Colt military Slide and barrel. The barrel has the H P stamp on top of the opening. The bore is in very good condition. The pistol shows holster wear and service use. The wear is consistant over the complete pistol. The magazine is a two tone World War One magazine. the grips are the correct wood grips for this Colt. The grips show some wear. There are no cracks or damage to the grips. The action is tight and works smoothly. The original military finish would rate a 30% overall condition The rest of the finish is mostly patina. The holster is World War Two Issued in 1942. The documents that came with this pistol state that this Colt and holster belonged to Lt. Col. Duane Brenna. It was purchased from his estate.  He served In Burma with the 80th Fighter Group. I have photos of the fighter planes and printed history of the fighter group. All this will go with this Colt. This is history that most military pistols have lost through time and uncaring purchases and dealings. I seldom have any history of the guns that go through my Shop. This is one of the times that I am lucky to have these details! This is a Great Colt with interesting history that collectors look for! Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
