You are viewing an Original, Antique Colt Root M1855 Revolver Cased Set. Overall set remains in Very Good + condition. All markings are present. Serial number 12xxx. All the numbers match, barrel, strap & cylinder. Actions and bore are fine. The one piece wood grip has a few minor chips. Box measures 9 1/2" x 5 14"; gun measures 8-1/2" overall.
Cylinder scene remains around 75-80% visible. Overall revolver retains around 15-20% blue. The wood case is period but the inside has been redone. Set comes with an original flask, cap tin, and incorrect bullet mold. This is a .28 Caliber, 5-Shot, Model 2 Revolver. Made in 1856 in Hartford, CT by maker Colt.
