Lock plate stamped “T. & C. NEAVE/CINCINNATI”. Double set trigger. Very good and all original overall with the exception of the nipple which is a modern replacement. Original lock with all the original parts. Metal with the original dark patina and stock lightly cleaned long ago. Triggers and lock in working order. Probably by Lemuel Brown of Washington County. A signed rifle with many similarities is pictured on page 99, Volume V of Don Hutzlar’s very extensive work OHIO GUNSMITHS & ALLIED TRADESMEN.
