Barrels are steel and measure 27 7/8" and weigh 4 pounds 13 ounces. The double rifle is built on the strong Jones underlever and weighs 8 pounds 6 ounces. Barrels are on face and have fair bores with some light pitting (none deep). The action and locks are 90% engraved with animal scenes including Tigers. The right side of the action is also engraved "110 GRS CASE 3 1/4" no case colors remain. The action and barrels are also marked "2" indicating a pair of rifles were ordered. Locks are non-rebounding and operate fine. The butt stock has a horn grip cap and steel butt plate. Wood to metal fit is good and no proud metal. The forend has a latch release and the wood needs repaired around the latch and the checkering needs recut. The butt stock is solid and the checkering is good and the pull is 14". The barrels have one standing and one flipup sight, a dolls head, and appear to have an old reblue. The rifle is cased in a period Mahogany case with brass corners and brass lifting ring.The label is an original J & W Tolley. Contained in the case is a brass .400 cal. English mold with nose pin, original Ivory handled English powder measure, Ivory handled cleaning brush, original .400 steel sizing die, Ebony wad punch, turn screw and key for case lock and a Gold firing pin container..
