This is a superior example of the Swiss Bern Model 06/24 Luger made for the Swiss Military. It looks almost new. This Luger was made in 1928. The complete serial number, 27441, is stamped on the front of the frame and underside of the barrel. Serial Number 27500 was the last of 17,874 Swiss Bern 06/24 produced, so this is a very late gun… only 59 from the end. The partial serial number "441" is stamped on the bottom of the barrel lug and on the inside of each grip panel. The small parts are stamped with the partial number "41". “WAFFENFABRIK/BERN” is stamped on the top of the toggle. The frame, barrel, and front toggle are stamped with small Geneva cross inspection marks. The left side of the frame is stamped with a +/M and a "P" above the takedown latch indicating it was to be sold to the public. It is fitted with the correct 1906 pattern grip safety and checkered walnut grips with smooth borders. The kit offered includes an exceptional Swiss made 1927 leather holster and shoulder strap. The holster has been marked on the back with "A. WÄCHLI" followed below by “SATTLEREI”, then “BERN,” and finally by the date, “27”. The holster has a pouch on the top flap to house the second correct, unmarked wood base and plated tube magazine included in this offer. Both magazines that come with this Luger are correct, which is not usually the case. Correct magazines are hard to find. One of the two offered here came from Switzerland. “Real” magazines (see photos attached) that go with the 06/24 have an imaginary cylinder of wood with concave ends (to allow a thumb and a finger/knuckle to be used in removing the magazine) that goes above the wooden base’s bottom surface. This surface goes from the front of the magazine, around and below the cylinder, then on to the back to the magazine. One of the two magazines offered with this gun is almost perfect, the other is "only" excellent. A USPS Money Order or a Cashier/Teller Check is my preferred method of receiving payment. Personal checks will be accepted, but will require 14 days after receipt before shipping the pistol to make sure the check clears. The gun will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail. All shipping costs will be in addition to the winningamount. I am a private collector with no sales tax required. No international shipments.
Condition:
Outstanding, with 99% plus arsenal refurbished blue finish and 95% of the straw on small parts. A slight amount of blue has been worn off on the sharp edges of the gun and a tiny number of pinpricks can be found on the barrel extension. The grips are excellent with sharp checkering and uniform coloring. Mechanically excellent. The holster is also in exceptional condition, with strong tight stitching, and has well-maintained and flexible leather. NO CRACKS. The shoulder strap that goes with the holster is in very good condition.
