Description:
This is a nice original Walther PP made by the Manurhin firm in France under license from Walther. Manufactured in the 1970's, this pistol is in excellent condition and all the numbered parts match. The front grip strap is stamped with "JW2895", indicating that this pistol was an issued Austrian police weapon. The letters and number stand for "Justiz Wache" and weapon number 2895 for that department. Justiz Wache is the Austrian Minitry of Justice. Due to post WW2 restrictions imposed on the German armsmaking industry and the loss of the Walther manufacturing plant in Ulm, Walther licensed all of their pistol designs to the Manhurin firm for production in France until 1986. After 1986 Walther moved production to the U.S. This PP model was imported into the States by Intrac Arms in the 1990's and is import marked on the right side of the frame above the trigger area.. It is in excellent all-original condition. It retains 98% of the original factory blue finish on all the metal parts, with only some very small handling/storage marks visible under close inspection. The bore is in minty like-new condition. The rifling is strong with sharp lands and grooves and no pitting or erosion. The original black plastic Manurhin grips are in perfect shape with no wear, cracks, or repairs. The action on this PP is perfect, it operates smoothly without any slop. All of the controls work 100% like the day it left the factory. This PP comes with the original factory magazine, in excellent condition like the pistol itself. If you have been looking for a PP for your collection this Manurhin example would be tough to beat. It is not often we have one of these that is so clean, plus it has the added history of Austrian Police issue.
